This is a great deterrent in increasing the nursing workforce with the shortage of nurses. A lot of nurses are traveling now. You want an even greater percentage of nurses not staying at the bedside then increase the license fee. When it comes to keeping my license after retirement the answer will probably be no. Keeping up with educational hours and the cost of keeping my license will not be beneficial for me. Younger nurses will look to pursue other career opportunities.
