I am in complete support of the bill as written. Optometrists receive extensive training on these laser procedures. In rural areas where access to an ophthalmologist may be difficult, giving patients greater access to the same quality standard of care is important. Allowing OD’s to perform these procedures, ones that they have been thoroughly trained and prepared for, allows us to achieve our greatest goal: providing our patients with gold standard care.This bill will improve access for patients.
