As a member of the Louisiana Optometry licensing board for over 35 years I have seen the benefits to the public of the law allowing Doctors of Optometry to perform ophthalmic laser surgery procedures.  I urge the state of Virginia to adopt the proposed rules allowing doctors of Optometry to perform these procedures.
