I do not support the kratom ban

Going after a ban would be a huge mistake. There are no studies that cite deaths from ONLY kratom, and we currently passed an act to make sure consumers can purchase lab tested and safe kratom. Making it a schedule 1 will only encourage a black market on it and actual deaths.

**trigger warning
My personal experience is that I wanted nothing but to die 8 years ago due to extreme PTSD. I was going to therapy and on antidepressants but found nothing worth living for. I was put on different drugs and when I had a bad side effect to one, it was recommended I take a heavy barbiturate to offset that side effect. I was a zombie, alive but not living. Then I found Kratom and gained my confidence back, my will to live, and a clear mind. I can take as needed such as for anxiety, being triggered, or to help me sleep. I never suffered any adverse effects or withdrawal.

There are many stories like mine, people who have been able to recover from addiction, and people who do not want to continue taking extremely addictive drugs (that has caused an alarming amount of deaths). What does this ban accomplish? Putting more people in jail or prison for profit? Force people to take dangerous opioids or barbiturates because big pharma needs more money? Please do not ban kratom. All it will do is create more problems (which by the way kratom is related to the coffee family so I guess ban coffee too). Alcohol kills more people. Opioids kill more people. But sure take something helpful away because our for profit medicine could care less about our lives, and care more about how much money they can make.
