Please save the Chesapeake Bay!

There should be no commercial menhaden fishing in the Chesapeake Bay because it is the largest estuary in the U.S.;however, the bay is a separate ecosystem from the Atlantic Ocean, and the Chesapeake Bay and its wildlife are dying. The people that know it, love it, live on it have noticed drastically less osprey, fish, and crabs. The Chesapeake Bay is not as deep as the Atlantic Ocean and has struggled for decades with the loss of sea grass that helps to keep it healthy just as the menhaden do. When commercial menhaden fishing drop their 50 foot nets, the nets scrape the bottom of the bay, uprooting & killing what little sea grass the bay has left for protection. You can easily see this anytime a fish spill washes up on the shore, there is always a large amount of sea grass as well. Please stop commercial menhaden fishing in the Chesapeake Bay and allow the Bay to recover from this destruction. Commercial menhaden fishing should only be permitted in the open Atlantic Ocean and not right at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay either since it is a nursery for fish. Thank you.
