I have fished in the Chesapeake Bay for decades and for probably at least half those years I have been baffled as to why it has been so hard for “experts” not to see the negative effects of overfishing menhaden in the Chesapeake.  It’s clear the Omega industrial complex has way to much political sway over how the menhaden fisheries are managed and I believe that without this petition it is simply a matter of time before the menhaden are fished out of existence.
