Remove the destructive big business bait fish reduction fishing from the bay. Allow the bait fish to be eaten by the fin fish that our bay was once known for. 20-30 years ago there was a lot more small time family owned commercial fishing operation on the bay. The eastern shore used to have many men gill netting fin fish to support their families. Women would hang nets for work in the back yards in between trees. Gone is the bait fish of the past so gone is the ability for these people to keep a way of life. It was all traded to allow one company to stay in business and that company is now owned by Canada. Allow our bay a chance to rebound. If you won’t do it for your children do it for the children that grew up hungry because one fishing fleet slowly put most of the commercial waterman of the Chesapeake bay out of work.
