I do not support this petition that attempts to regulate purse seining gear. Stating that this fishery is "improperly" using purse seine nets is absurd. I would ask what the petitioner's or his supporters' experience with purse seine fishing is to be able to accuse the industry of improper use. 

It is apparent that this is one of many attempts by this petitioner and his supporters to find a way to further limit this industry without valid reason, and without consideration of the many who depend on the menhaden fishing business to live.
