Please reform and regulate the activities of commercial menhaden operations in inshore waters that are critical to coastal communities and shallow water fisheries. I have witnessed the bycatch mortality and dead marine creatures killed by the use of these purse seine nets in shallow water (less than 60'). If you see it for yourself, you will understand the harm caused by these nets and you will support increased protection. Please do your job and help keep the best interests of concerned citizens at heart by regulating and enforcing best practices in coastal habitats before more harm is done.
