Oversize nets are destroying the ecology on the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay

I can’t understand how reduction fisheries are allowed to use nets that are 60 foot deep when typically they fish in water that is less than 40 feet. That means their nets are scraping along the bottom, destroying or uprooting everything in their way. There is no way for non-targeted species fish to escape out of the bottom of the net as they are designed when the Nets are much deeper than the water depth. This needs to be stopped immediately and proper nets should be used.
