While I object to menhaden reduction harvesting within the bay, if they are going to be operating they should be using proper equipment.  Damage to aquatic vegetation impacts a vital nursery for a plethora of species, not just menhaden.

Improper nets will also lead to more fish spills, as they cannot be handled properly if not designed for the appropriate depth.
