Distribution of Gaming Proceeds

Our organization does a lot of good in our community.  Unfortunately, that will not continue if the proposed charitable donations are required to be 40% and we are not allowed to pay operational costs from gaming proceeds.  We are already struggling to stay open and this proposed legislation will be the death knell for our lodge and many others.  We have Bingo one night a week and that is open to the public, so we collect funds from our community.  However, the electronic gaming and the other games are for the entertainment of our members and to raise funds to allow us to remain operational.  It would be reasonable for Virginia to expect the same percentage of charitable donations as Federal, but not quadruple the amount.  Please reconsider the percentage, as well as the allowed usage of funds so that we can continue to do good for others rather than make it too expensive and restrictive to remain viable.

Respectfully,

Vickie Burley
