I believe parents are responsible for their child until 18 years of age. Once 18, they are free to make their own decisions within the law. If any child has bills, medical or mental challenges, then the parent is the one recognized by law to take care of those needs with the support of the community. Why do we now live in a society that wants to leave the parents out of the major decisions for their own child? If a trans student wants to go back to their biological self, who is there to pick up the pieces and offer support. Our students are failing academically and the focus needs to be on academics. Reading the article recently on the trans student in the girls locker room, the girls said he was staring at them. Even if the student is trans, does that mean the student is prepared to be in a room full of naked girls for the 1st time. Does it mean that there is no sexual attraction? Does it mean that the trans student is emotionally and mentally prepared to be in that environment without making the biological girls feel vulnerable? Are the biological girls prepared emotionally and mentally for the trans student. The biological change in teenage boys make them stronger than female teenagers. The most recent example is during the vollyball game in NC when a biological female was seriously injured by a trans player. She was hurt so bad by a strong ball to the face that she had to be hospitalized. How many more biological girls will have to be hurt until the schools finds another way to deal with this issue.
