The Greatest Right is the Right to Vote

I have raised four good citizens and instilled in them appreciation for how precious their right to vote is. Ihave always felt that they and I could exercise this right freely, wtihtout worry that our votes would not count. Now I find that these fine citizens may not have their votes counted when they send in an absentee ballot from college. Slowly, the control is creeping in. Read "In the Garden of Beasts" and you will have chills run through you as you realize how insipidly these inroads on our rights can occur. I write because I want to protect this most precious right. I used to take my children with me to the polls so that they could see me vote and each year, I remind them to request an absentee ballot, telling them that this is the most important right they have as American citizens and to keep it, they must exercise it. And now, I must worry that their votes won't count.
