If the article in the Va. Pilot is to be believed, the new regulations will make voting more difficult, and can have a detrimental impact on the outcome of elections, in terms of representing the desire of the public. A person's signature is a personal statement. It is unique to that person and should be accepted as genuine when presented in that person's hand. There is no good reason for the Commonwealth to stipulate otherwise when counting votes. I know of no one whose tax return was refused because of a sloppy signature. All official paperwork should be handle in the same manner.
