I agree with the governor's proposed parental rights regulations. First and foremost, parents have the God-given right to raise their children, teach them their religious faith without interference by the government and guide them during all of the challenges they face throughout their lives; especially in an ever-growing secular world that continues to push God out of every aspect of life. Parents know their children's needs better than anyone, and certainly better than any school or government agency. If children are struggling with gender dysphoria, they need guidance and emotional support from their parents, NOT the state who often times confuses children even further and pushes them into making radical decisions without their parents knowledge. Under the new policies, school officials must keep parents fully informed, and require schools to enforce laws, regulations and policies that prohibit and deter bullying or harassment, so the propsed regulations will protect ALL students.
Schools need to actually focus on education by teaching children academic subjects such as reading, writing, math, science, history, etc. Many students in the U.S. suffer academically because school administrators are too focused on pushing liberal, immoral ideologies and agendas.
Student participation in male and female specific athletics, school activities and events should be determined by their biological sex, e.g., for overnight travel accommodations and locker rooms, where physical safety is of the utmost concern. Additionally, students must use bathrooms that correspond to their biological sex. Any single-user bathrooms and facilities should be made available in accessible areas and provided with appropriate signage, indicating accessibility for all students.
In summary, these proposed regulations protect the fundamental religious liberties granted to parents, students and school personnel by the First Amendment and would be a positive move in the right direction for VA.
