As a provider of assisted living in the commonwealth and other states we are concerned that it creates additional barriers in the process of attracting and retaining qualified individuals. We are opposed to a national exam that does not speak to creating quality care, but instead reduces knowledge and skill to the lowest common denominator that may or may not have any relationship to an individual state's attempt to reasonably regulate the assisted living care industry. Alternatively, we do support an exam that tests Administrators on state regulations, which allows states to determine the necessary skill level and knowledge of administrators.
