Children need a female mom and a male dad

Sir or Ma'am:

My husband and I adopted two children from the foster care system twelve years ago.  Along with the normal angst of losing parents, these two (not blood related to each other) were bounced from home to home in what has become a typical history of kids "in the system."  This instability and perpetual fear of the future strongly affects any person, but especially children who already have enough labels to send out a mailing!

Our girls ended up in our stable, two parent, man and woman home and have struggled intensely through endless doctors and therapies to try to learn to trust and discover themselves after their early experiences.

To think about the added emotional trauma these children would have had to endure if they had been placed in a single-gender partnership is heartbreaking.  All PC aside, we have all seen the stats and read the studies about increased risk of sexualization, especially in male-homosexual households, we've seen the increase in physical illnesses in these homes, and we know that the children who are adopted need the softest landing possible if they are to have ANY CHANCE OF OVERCOMING THEIR ALREADY SIGNIFICANT HISTORIES!  We also know from 6000 years of recorded history that families work best and therefore children thrive best, in traditional male-female families.

We adopted from the foster care system, which literally came knocking on our door begging us to take more children.  If legislation is passed to force church organizations to place children in same-gender households, the church-based programs will go out of business, and WHO WILL SUFFER?

The children.

That's not what any of us want.

Please do not require placement of children in same-gender households.

Thank you.
