In my opinion, the proposed addition of "sexual orientation" to the list of categories that private adoption agencies cannot consider in making child placement decisions would be disastrously bad public policy. A considerable body of scientific data shows that children are best socialized when they're raised in a home with two opposite-sex parents. For whatever reason, this proposal chooses to ignore that. It would also be very dubious that any state agency has the legal authority to impose such a requirement administratively.
