I am writing in opposition to the proposed changes to the Virginia Department of Social Services' minimum standards for licensed child placing agencies.  Including "sexual orientation" and "family status" in the non-discrimination clause will exclude many faith-based placement organizations, who should be able to exercise their consciences freely while providing essential services to children in need of loving, stable families.  Please do not politicize children's welfare in this manner.
