Please adopt the proposed amendment to 4VAC10-30-170.
Throughout the last decade, the Commonwealth of Virginia has adopted an ever-increasingly uniform set of firearms-related statutes and regulations. This uniformity has greatly simplified firearms enthusiasts' compliance with law. Prior to choosing the course, a bewildering patchwork of laws, regulations, and local ordinances made it difficult to determine the applicable requirements.

There are still some discrepancies in the Commonwealth’s laws and regulations, for example, the prohibition on possessing firearms and
ammunition is state forests.  Citzens can possess firearms and ammunition in National forests and parks and in local and regional parks, but not state forests.

Adopting the proposed amendment to 4VAC10-30-170 to allow the lawful
possession of firearms and ammunition in state forests creates further uniformity and lessens the compliance burden on citizens.

Again, please adopt the proposed amendment to 4VAC10-30-170.
