Sciences teacher says "Let's keep Virginia in the RGGI".

I am a Sciences teacher in central Virginia. Of course, I've been concerned about Climate Change for many years, starting with years ago when it was called "The Greenhouse Effect", then later called "Global Warming".  We need to take much stronger actions to slow down and hopefully reduce Climate Change.

Virginia needs to stay a part of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI).  The RGGI has been a successful effort to reduce pollution, it helps localities deal with flooding caused by Climate Change and it helps families reduce energy bills and reduce the impacts of Climate Change.

I can't understand why we would not want to be a part of the RGGI, unless  various industries with their massive financial payoffs are influencing politicians and decision makers.

We need to be much more diligent protecting people and our environment.  Let's stay in the RGGI !

Thank you.
