Energy Efficiency Should Be Prioritized

Energy efficiency upgrades are not only a a way to lower utility costs, but it also plays a part in the environmental justice movement. More people able to keep the lights on in their home are better equipped to alleviate stress in their lives and can be more motivated and empowered to lift themselves out of economic depression.

Low-income energy efficiency programs cut ratepayers energy bills by 20% on average. The Housing innovations in Energy Efficiency funds provide healthy, safe, and comfortable homes every day. Please do not cut funding to programs that allow for this life changing work to be done for the most vulnerable people in Virginia. These programs should see increased funding and prioritization under Governor Youngkin's administration if he wants to leave a lasting legacy in Virginia by transforming peoples lives.
