The model policy should include clarification that gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender representation is not in itself considered "sexually explicit material" as otherwise this policy might erroneously be used to prevent schools from teaching works including LGBT people at all- including such classics as Plato's Symposium or Homer's Illiad!
