I write in strong opposition to the proposed guidance document. Literature, including children's literature has always included novel and divisive content. We learn about the world by reading fiction and non-fiction that includes the experiences and existences of those similar and different to our own. This is a manufactured concern. I reject Virginia's efforts to ban, marginalize, and deny the diversity of our human experience. Do not enact this guidance.

I am so glad that Virginia has elections every year. We will not go backwards.
