Strongly Oppose

I oppose any rules/policies that imposes political views on local school districts and localities. I also strongly oppose the banning of books and veiled attempts to silence/disregard/discriminate against the LGBTQ+ community, who are our neighbors.

These policies are duplicative of policies that already exist in Virginia. Parents have always had the right to opt their child out of material in the classroom. In most localities, all materials are approved by a committee that includes educators and stakeholders, including parents. I do not see how reduplicating efforts at the state level is conductive to education, aside from censorship.
