Vulnerable students do not need further marginalization

The DOE needs to rework the Model Policies to avoid marginalizing students. The law requires the DOE to issue Model Policies, but it is up to the DOE to decide what goes into the Model Policies. Support all students by reflecting them authentically within the curriculum and in titles available in the library. To ignore issues that exist within our communities only further marginalizes already vulnerable populations. Trust educators and librarians to do their jobs. Putting blinders on and "whitewashing" history serves noone.
