Opposed as written

I oppose the proposed text as written as some people would deem any material that refers to LGBTQ+ people or relationships involving them as sexually explicit and therefore to be removed from schools and libraries.  The existence of LGBTQ+ people and inclusion of them in books is important and should not be made subject to this biased law, nor should parental consent be required for books written for children and youth.  Librarians are incredibly good at their jobs.  Trust them to do their jobs when picking out suitable materials.  No child will be 'turned gay' by the mention of an LGBTQ person or people.  LGBTQ people are born, not raised.  LGBTQ people exist and should not be discriminated against, and this includes their representation in school materials.
