A child’s safety isn’t threatened because they learn about sex and activities outside of their experience  If we let our fear of change, growth, and just basic stuff that is different from what we’re used to, prevent us from learning about and understanding these things, we are resigning ourselves to one facet of life. That’s not safety; it’s cowardice. And kids deserve better.
