Good morning, as a parent to two children in Virginia public schools, I strongly oppose this bill. This sort of censorship will further alienate LGBTQ students, and widen the gap between them and their peers. We need our kids to feel safe and represented in their classrooms. We need them to look at the world from different perspectives, and that means using literature as an impetus for deeper discussions about our diverse experiences.
