The fact that people are even considering this a good policy is baffling. If you remove the expose of queer representation, history, and education from our schools, you will leave students in danger. Students who discover their identity within the LGBTQ+ community will have no information besides whatever their parents have taught them, and after reading the other comments on this page, will be that being gay is “wrong”, “a choice”, or “a sin”, which could not be further from the truth. If you ban queer education from out schools, you will leave students more confused and viable to discovering their identities in dangerous ways once they get older, think their teens and early twenties, such as having multiple sex partners, practicing unsafe queer sex, drugs, and other extremely dangerous methods. They will take these routes because they will think they are the only routes they are able to take. Educating the students of Virginia about the LGBTQ+ community is the best way to make sure they stay safe and protected from the dangers of any community in the world, whether they be straight, gay, transgender, or anything else. You are putting students like me in danger by even considering this bill. This disgusts me.
