Have we not learned from past attempts to censor free access to information? How does restriction of ideas juxtapose with adherence to our founding principles? And what will you do with this bill once people who don't share your particular values -- or pray to your particular version of a god -- use it to restrict access to the information you want your kids to have? Not only is this a completely wrong-headed attempt to control free minds (and ostracize marginalized children, and hobble professional teachers in the process), but it's the most stupidly short-sighted legislative effort there is (ref: Baphomet ... have fun with the repercussions!). This nation seems to be mired in a dark period where rolling back individual rights to privacy and ideas portends the shift toward a fear-based, authoritarian-led Medievalism that is absolutely in conflict with true American ideals. I am beyond disappointed that Virginia would lead that movement.
