As a Virginian, I am highly concerned by the lack of reading comprehension ability among the educators/librarians on this forum who oppose SB656. 

The bill does NOT censor any books. 

The bill does NOT prevent the rest of the students/class from reading any books.

If you want your child to read the sexually explicit book, he or she STILL CAN!

All this bill does is require schools to INFORM parents of sexually explicit materials being assigned in the classroom and allow them to opt out THEIR OWN CHILD and offer an alternate assignment. 

Why do these educators oppose parents' rights?

Why do these educators want parents to be kept in the dark about their child's assignments?

Why are we entrusting these educators make decisions about what our children learn in classrooms when they can't comprehend a bill as simple at SB656?

As a parent, I wholeheartedly support this bill and the model policies.
