As a Citizen of VA and a caring MawMaw I am supporting any and all efforts that will move Virginia to a place where children are protected from unwanted indoctrination and exposure to materials that should be pre screened by parents at the very least. Children cannot unhear and unsee material that is possibly not appropriate for children. Parents know the abilities and responses of their children. And they have the primary obligation above all to protect them and shield them from harmful cultural influences. As a 35 year public school teaching veteran, we are jumping onto a cultural bandwagon right now that has not in any form or fashion been researched properly. We are gambling with children’s lives doing this. Parents must be the gatekeepers.
