This proposed law is too broad, small minded and a whitewashing of history. If “we know the truth, and the truth shall set us free”, then let’s live it. We cannot create the inclusive, empathetic, kind and just society that we need to survive while lying about our history of racism, sexism, abuse and injustice. This law has the potential of eliminating discussions of race, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, and how they intersect in the teaching of history, literature, and health in our schools and our kids deserve better. I oppose this law.
