Lgbtq folks simply existing is not “sexually explicit” and educators should be respected to do their jobs without bigoted parents demanding every child be as deprived as they do their own children. I’ve seen some parents rage about the Color Purple which is a classic and award winning work because it was taught in an AP Lit (ergo college leveled) course for senior students. The books being targeted discuss or were written by non-white or lgbtq authors.
