Guidance Document Change: In 2021, the Virginia General Assembly passed House Bill 1904 and Senate Bill 1196, and was signed into law by Governor Northam. The law establishes new requirements to support culturally competent educators in the Commonwealth. The Guidance on Cultural Competency Training for Teachers and Other Licensed School Board Employees in Virginia Public Schools was developed for the Board to fulfill the statutory mandate to provide guidance on the minimum standards for the local training requirement.

NO CRT IN SCHOOLS

I’m going to be very blunt.

Critical Race Theory AKA Cultural Responsive Training AKA Equity Policy Is Dangerous MARXIST, COMMUNIST TRAINING AND INDOCTRINATION.

I TOOK AN OATH TO PROTECT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AGAINST ALL ENEMIES FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC AND RIGHT NOW CRT AND THOSE THAT WANT IT ARE THE ENEMY.

This is a dangerous and divisive ideology. It’s one that assigns moral value to kids on the basis of their skin color. It is inconceivable that anyone could look back at human history and not see that singling out a particular racial or ethnic group as the cause of all societal problems can quickly lead us to a very bad place.

It is reasonable, why CRT in our schools is very frightening to so many people. Parents believe their children are being indoctrinated against their beliefs, and I must agree.

Being a father of three black men that graduated from these same schools, it frightens me to even think that my son would not have had the opportunity to be the first black valedictorian in Virginia Beach history since reconstruction because your system is being built around no rewards for excellence. Would he even be a doctor today?

CRT does away with excellence for equity or excuses.

However, in many cases, these parents are right, and understandably so. This ideology is not simply being presented as one way of looking at the world. It is being taught as the Truth with a capital ‘T,’ and you will be cast into outer darkness or punished for questioning it.

We need to fight the rise of this toxic and destructive orthodoxy if we want America to be a place where, our children are judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin. MLK is rolling over in his grave.

You do not have the right to create a hostile environment in which students or teachers are continually treated as “less than” on the basis of skin color or religious beliefs.

When these things happen — and they are happening — then we must fight back hard not only in the court of public opinion, but in courts of law as well.

Most people know that the First Amendment protects freedom of speech. But it also protects freedom of conscience — that is, the right to hold our personal thoughts and beliefs free from government intrusion. This includes Virginia Beach schools.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 also prevents discrimination, including the creation of a hostile environment, at public and private institutions receiving federal funding (which include all public schools). Many of these critical race trainings, particularly when mandatory, may create a hostile environment by continually singling people out for criticism solely on the basis of their skin color.

Let me also remind you, You are not hired to teach morality to our children. That is for us the parents.

Based on the 14th Amendment, CRT is unconstitutional. Let me remind you what it says because I’m sure many of you have forgotten or you simply don’t know.

No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. CRT does just the opposite.

THE NUMBER ONE ISSUE WE DON’T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IS: FATHERLESS HOMES IN THE MINORITY COMMUNITY. ALL THE WHITE GUILT YOU MAY HAVE, AND ALL THE EQUITY, IMPLICIT BIASED TRAINING OF WHITE PEOPLE CAN NEVER FIX THIS, BECAUSE IT’S A BLACK PROBLEM THAT ONLY BLACK PEOPLE CAN FIX, AND YOU PEOPLE SITTING ON THE SCHOOL BOARD USHERING IN THIS CRT VICTIMIZATION black box

CRIPPLES CHILDREN AND IT CANNOT FIX IT EITHER.

The bottom line is that our future as a free society depends on fighting back against the pall of orthodoxy that has descended over our educational institutions and those that would impose a culture of racism inside of these educational buildings.
