Guidance Document Change: In 2021, the Virginia General Assembly passed House Bill 1904 and Senate Bill 1196, and was signed into law by Governor Northam. The law establishes new requirements to support culturally competent educators in the Commonwealth. The Guidance on Cultural Competency Training for Teachers and Other Licensed School Board Employees in Virginia Public Schools was developed for the Board to fulfill the statutory mandate to provide guidance on the minimum standards for the local training requirement.

No to Racist Division

Culturally Responsive Education is Institutionalized Racism in sheep's clothing. It does not lift students up and help them to become successful citizens in society. It divides people from one another based on race and the idea of privilege. There are multi-racial families. How are they suppose to feel about this? These neo-marxists want to destroy the family, to destroy civil society to destroy our nation and ultimately our whole world. The only people that believe this rhetoric have been brainwashed by the education system. People are waking up. Black Americans are not from another culture. Most black Americas are descendants of people that came to America long before most white people who immigrated here. Blacks have been in the Americas since the 16-1700s. Meanwhile, college un-educated intellectuals are teaching folks that they we need to treat them special because they are not from our culture. How condescending and ignorant this is! This is racism in action. Have you ever listened to Jazz music or went to a gospel preaching church? This is American. Stop teaching this divisive nonsense!-Sincerely, a tri-racial descendent of the Powhatan tribe, the English settlers of Jamestown, and black American slaves and white American indentured servants. We ARE AMERICAN.
