petition - "(...) we are already seeing constant disruptions to education for far too many due to infections, possible infections based on symptoms, and mandatory quarantines."
My comment - witnessed "disruptions to educations" are also - to certain degree - a result of currently implemented regulations/policies (not saying good/wrong here). Requested covid-19 vaccine mandate most likely won't eliminate any of the existing "disruptions". Vaccinated people unfortunately do also spread infections (according to CDC), so mandatory quarantines would stay in place even after potential vaccine mandate. Mandating COVID-19 vaccinations could result with limiting, or excluding educations to those students who would oppose vaccine mandates (creating significant disruptions for them), could result with lowering education quality at VA schools (not vaccinated teachers could no longer provide education), yet leaving all the existing disruptions to educations in place (infections, mandatory quarantines, masks mandates etc.) The vaccination mandate policy could make more harm to the education, than good as the result.
petition - "My daughter and all other students should have a right to be able to attend school without being unnecessarily put at risk by other students and teachers who refuse to be vaccinated "
My comment - My kids and all other students should have a right to be able to attend school without being put at risk of developing myocarditis, "reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) [...] after mRNA COVID-19 vaccination (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna), especially in male adolescents and young adults" (www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/myocarditis.html).
Please note "Finland and Sweden are limiting the use of Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine in young people over concerns around rare cardiovascular side effects. " (https://www.cnbc.com/2021/10/08/nordic-countries-are-restricting-the-use-of-modernas-covid-vaccine.html).
There's a risk of COVID-19 outcome on one side, and risk of Vaccine Adverse Reactions on the other side. Let VDOH educate, and allow parents to assess covid-19 vaccination benefits/risks, thus making the best decision, their decision, take responsibility and live with the results of their decisions. Never allow for any agency to decide for anything this agency will not bare responsibility for.
petition - "The irrational minority should not be dictating the public health policy for VA or the schools"
My comment - Neither (no epithet) majority, nor minority shall be dictating the public health policy for VA or the schools. By filling the petition, the petitioner attempts to dictate the public health policy for VA or the schools.
