Mandatory COVID Vaccine for school employees and students

I am a registered nurse and support the COVID vaccine for those individuals who choose to get it and for those who choose to vaccinate their children.  I am vaccinated myself. However, I strongly oppose requiring it to work in a school system or attend school.
Unlike the currently required vaccines that actually prevent a disease and its transmission, this vaccine does not do that. It simply decreases the severity of the virus, should a person get it. It doesn’t even stop the spread of transmission. Flu vaccines are not required to work in a school or attend school, it is a recommendation. Why is that? Because it does not actually prevent the flu or the transmission of the flu. It only decreases the severity of the illness if a person gets it.
This vaccine should also not be required because many people have already had COVID and have built up antibodies. Natural antibodies are the ideal antibodies to have in the system, and a person who already has them should not be required to get a vaccine that could potentially cause  their bodies to have a hyper immune response. If people want to take that risk themselves, or with their children, that is their choice. But no one should be forced to do this to attend school.
