No government, employer, school, or business has the right to insert itself into a medical decision people make for themselves or on behalf of their children/dependents. Bodily autonomy is a basic human right which must be preserved. Any medical intervention must be consensual, not coerced or mandated.
In addition:
Covid-19 vaccines are not medically indicated for the overwhelming majority of children, who continue to be at extremely low risk for serious COVID-19. (REF: CDC statistics)
Mandatory vaccination will not protect others, as vaccinated and unvaccinated alike can transmit the disease; because the vaccinations do not prevent infection or transmission (REF: CDC, FDA Emergency Use Authorization documentation, vaccine manufacturers), herd immunity through vaccination in this case simply cannot occur.
The extent of so-called "breakthrough" infections (including serious COVID-19 and deaths) in vaccinated people (REF: CDC statistics) is an indicator that needs to be further studied.
The medium and long-term safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccinations are not yet known (despite what our public health and political leadership keep saying), as clinical trials to determine just that are ongoing (REF: FDA Emergency Use Authorization documentation). Consequently, one cannot adequately determine that the benefits outweigh the costs when the true extent of the benefits and the costs cannot possibly be known yet.
International law forbids coerced/forced/consensual medical interventions which are experimental (such as those under Emergency Use Authorization, as are the Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, and Jansen COVID-19 shots). (REF Nuremburg Code) In the U.S., only COMIRNATY has been licensed/approved (i.e., not subject to Emergency Use Authorization) (though I do not believe it is available in the U.S. yet), and it is legally distinct from the original Pfizer-BioNTech version. (FDA)
It is unethical to force anyone, particularly a child who has almost no risk of getting serious COVID-19, to get a medical intervention with unknown long-term effects and whose reported deaths to date (as recorded in the long-standing Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, which is known to show as little as 1% of adverse events) have exceeded 16,000. Historically (pre-COVID), typically just a few dozen or so reported deaths were sufficient to stop vaccination programs pending further investigation). (CDC-FDA, VAERS)
Of note, as of October 12, 2021, nearly 12,000 physicians and scientists worldwide have signed the Rome Declaration, accusing COVID policymakers of "crimes against humanity." (REF: Rome Declaration)
