Vaccine mandates have been challenged time and again, but they are constitutionally sound and a common sense way to prevent the transmission of disease. We currently mandate many vaccines for people attending school and for healthcare workers. This should be no different. SARS-CoV-2 has no political motivation, and the only way to effectively prevent transmission at a societal level (without unacceptable levels of morbidity and mortality) is through immunizations. I do not support vaccines mandates for vaccines that have not received FDA approval, but once they do, I completely support requiring COVID-19 vaccines for school attendance or employment.
