a. The condition of being free from oppressive restriction or control by a government or other power.

    b. A right to engage in certain actions without control or interference by a government or other power: the liberties protected by the Bill of Rights.

This petition is based on fear of a virus with an almost 99% recovery rate, and attempts to tell every parent and child that we should take an action based on someone else's fears.  That is in clear violation of our founding documents, and definitions of Liberty as guaranteed by our Founding Fathers.  If those who fear COVID or any other risk to their health or safety want to take action, they should then look for alternatives for themselves, such as homeschooling or using alternate forms of education, rather than mandating the majority of Americans and free people alter their lives or go against their religious freedom.

 

According to vdh.virginia.gov, Virginia has experienced 13,075 deaths out of 888,159 cases.  That represents a 1.47% death rate, or roughly a 98.53% recovery rate.  To break it down further for the sake of this petition, school age children have had 13 deaths out of 159,967 cases.  That represents a death rate of 0.00813% - 8 thousandths of a percent for school-age children.  Not only are any medical mandates un-Constitutional, an unproven vaccine mandate with no long-term impact studies completed most certainly should be removed from consideration given the minimal impact on children.  

Mandates are un-Constitutional - they are not law, they are arbitrary at the whims of those who would assume dictatorial control, and they should be removed immediately, and in this case, not considered at all.
