Vehemently opposed to mandates

The petitioner writes that her daughter "should have a right to be able to attend school without being unnecessarily put at risk by other students and teachers who refuse to be vaccinated".  This sentence perfectly illustrates the logical flaws inherent in the notion of COVID-19 vaccine mandates. If the vaccines work, her vaccinated daughter is protected. If they don't, then why require them?

While many have traditionally supported the notion of vaccinations being required for public education, those vaccines have a long history of safety profiles, address illnesses that severely affect children, and provide long-lasting (many years) immunity. This is a vastly different situation on all three counts. In addition, as the mother of two boys, I beg you to consider the warnings coming from many medical experts regarding the increased instance of myocarditis in boys after receiving the vaccines. The safety data is simply not sufficient to warrant a mandate at this time.
