Description The purpose of the proposed action is to provide regulations for the statewide Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program system that are in time with current processes, procedures and organizational frameworks.
State Authority The Commission on VASAP is empowered by the Code of Virginia (18.2-271.2 ) to establish and ensure the maintenance of minimum standards and criteria for program operations and performance .

Goals of Regulation Virginia Code 18.2-271.2 charges the Commission on VASAP with the administration and supervision of the state system of local alcohol and safety action programs and developing and maintaining operation and performance standards for these programs. The proposal of new ASAP regulations are a necessity to achieving these goals.
