| Action Summary |
This regulatory action will add an additional month, December, to the three month base-adjusting period of September, October, and November for the establishment of the subsequent year base requirements. The additional month will provide for a more balanced base-adjusting period. Base is the production requirement for producers with base to meet the estimated demand for fluid milk products and is essential to supply management. Additionally, amendments to the dates of notification of the need for additional base and producers will be required due to the addition of December in the base-adjusting period. Specifically, the dates of notice for new producers are being amended from January 1 to February 1 because of the addition of December to the base making period. The dates of application for new producers filing with the Commission are being amended from January 1 through February 1 to February 1 through February 15th. The date of selection of new producers is being changed from February 1 to February 15th. |
