Action Summary |
The purpose of the action is to conform to statutory changes made by Chapter 551, 2016 Acts of Assembly. The changes require SCOP applicants to submit fingerprint cards before DCJS can issue a valid registration, to include temporary, initial and renewal registrations. The changes also prohibit any person who is prohibited from possession, transporting or purchasing a firearm from eligibility for registration or appointment as a SCOP. The changes also require SCOPs to self-report to DCJS and the chief law-enforcement officer of any locality in which the SCOP is appointed within three days of becoming ineligible to be a SCOP. |
