Description of Proposed Guidance Document Changes
New guidance will include changes to the requirements regarding notification to law enforcement and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. These changes are necessary to implement requirements of title IV-E of the Social Security Act (the Act) and the Trafficking Victims Prevention and Protection Reauthorization Act of 2022. President Biden signed the Trafficking Victims Prevention and Protection Reauthorization Act of 2022 (P.L. 117-348) into law on January 5, 2023.
