Description of Proposed Guidance Document Changes

The proposed changes to the Auxiliary Grant (AG) Manual are limited to Chapters A, B, and K, and are summarized below: Chapter A (Introduction): - Removed various references to AGTrak because it has been discontinued. AGTrak was a system that was used to track AG Program applications. DARS discontinued as it was not helpful to the agency in collecting data, it was duplicative of other reporting/documentation requirements, and upon an audit, was determined to be lacking in necessary security features. LDSS benefits' eligibility staff will continue to process AG eligibility cases using a paper record and the Medicaid component will be entered into VaCMS. - Removed contact list for DARS staff. This information can be found directly on the DARS website and other places. Removing the contact list reduces the potential need to update the AG Manual more often to account for staffing or internal organization changes. Chapter B (Application Processing): - Removed various references to AGTrak because it has been discontinued. Chapter K (Supportive Housing): - Updated the definition of “Assisted Living Facility” to comport with 63.2-100, which was amended with changes that took effect July 1. - Removed various references to AGTrak because it has been discontinued. - Removed specific website links and replaced it with the general reference to the Fusion website, which is the private Department of Social Services (DSS) website LDSS staff use to access DSS forms, data, manual guidance, state agency contacts, etc. Removing the website links reduces the potential need to update the manual more often to account for website changes.
