I vehemently oppose not only the fast-tracking of this, but also the entire premise. First, a suspicion of someone having flu is not concrete fact. It is a guess at best, and completely unconfirmed. Second and most importantly, THIS IS A HIPAA VIOLATION! No personally identifiable patient information is to be shared with anyone that is not directly involved in the patient's care. Therefore, under the mandatory medical/legal document/agreement all Healthcare workers have to sign every two years, they cannot share this information with the government anyway and if they did, it would be considered illegal and criminal. This is wrong and completely unlawful and unethical and ridiculous on all levels!
